What is Aligned?
Aligned is an Ethereum infrastructure company that helps fintechs and institutions build financial products on Ethereum. Its documentation describes a vertically integrated stack for applications on a verifiable internet, offering one-click solutions for wallets, rollups, interoperability and zero-knowledge (ZK) services.
The suite in its docs includes a ZK Verification Layer (the Proof Aggregation Service), a Rollup-as-a-Service platform, Meta-Proving Services, an Interoperability Protocol and Wallet-as-a-Service. The docs say the whole stack is open-source, with no proprietary code or licenses.
ALIGN is the native asset of the Aligned ecosystem, an ERC-20 token built on Ethereum. It is intended to pay fees for services across the Aligned stack.
How Aligned works
Aligned's Proof Aggregation Service takes proofs submitted by users, folds them into one recursive proof, and verifies that single proof on Ethereum. The on-chain cost is spread across every proof in the batch, so each proof gets cheaper as more are aggregated. An Ethereum smart contract checks the final proof, so it relies on Ethereum's own security.
The Genesis Drop reached people through five waves: engineers, developers and researchers; Discord community members; Galxe quest participants; distinguished contributors such as Protocol Guild, L2BEAT, ZachXBT and ZK Podcast; and holders of tokens from ZK-focused projects including Starknet, Mina, ZKsync, Polygon, Scroll, Taiko and EigenCloud. Registration closed in late 2024.
ZK Arcade was a separate campaign: an arcade platform built on the Proof Verification Layer, entered through whitelisting by raffle. It verified 5644 proofs, minted 522 NFTs and distributed 657.22M points before it concluded.
Claim networks depend on allocation size. Smaller, fully unlocked allocations claim on Base, while larger, partially vested ones claim on Ethereum L1. Those larger allocations receive 10,000 tokens at TGE, and the remainder vests linearly over 12 months.

The Genesis Drop paid ALIGN, the Aligned ecosystem's ERC-20 token, from 8.74% of its supply. Recipients came from five waves, including Discord members, Galxe quest participants and holders of tokens from several ZK projects. ZK Arcade, a separate campaign, distributed points and minted NFTs. Genesis Drop registration closed in late 2024 and ZK Arcade concluded; claims for allocations have opened, and no deadline is given as of 2 November 2026.

Step 1: Genesis Drop registration (closed in late 2024)
While it ran, the Genesis Drop took wallet registrations, and they closed in late 2024. The Aligned tokenomics update describes the waves that were counted.
Step 2: Qualify through one of the waves
Allocations went to engineers and researchers, Discord members, Galxe quest participants, distinguished contributors and holders of tokens from projects such as Starknet, ZKsync and Scroll.
Step 3: Enter ZK Arcade through a whitelist raffle
The separate ZK Arcade campaign gave access by whitelisting through raffles with Aligned's partners. It paid points, and its results sit on an on-chain leaderboard.

Step 5: Claim on Base or Ethereum L1

Which chain do I claim ALIGN on?
- It depends on your allocation. Allocations of 10,000 ALIGN or less claim on Base, and allocations above 10,000 ALIGN claim directly on Ethereum L1. Aligned's airdrop details post explains that this split keeps gas costs low for the largest group of recipients.
How does ALIGN vesting work for airdrop recipients?
- Smaller allocations of 10,000 ALIGN or less unlock fully at TGE. Larger allocations receive 10,000 ALIGN at TGE, with the remainder released over a 12-month linear vesting schedule. The Distinguished Contributors share follows a separate 47-month schedule.
Did the Aligned airdrop cost money or need KYC?
- The Aligned airdrop posts list no purchase and no identity check as a requirement. Entry came through registration, community activity or ZK Arcade whitelisting, and claiming happens onchain, so network gas applies.
