What is Calamity?
Calamity is an online open-world game whose app presents it as "One open world. Built together." Its front page promises shared adventures, world bosses and gear made by players, and says the beta opens four biomes and eight zones for levels 1 to 35.
Players choose between Warrior, Archer and Mage, then shape their playstyle through a class talent tree. The biomes (the Outskirts, the Forests, the Crypts and the Swamps) each hold their own enemies and bosses.
Alongside the game, the app hosts a wallet connection, a shop for Gold, a cosmetics minting page, a wallet checker, a wiki and an armory. It also sells Factories, which are homes in the game's Factory district. The app says each community milestone adds a perk for every Factory holder.
How Calamity works
The game runs in shared zones. When a zone fills up it splits into layers, and dying drops part of your field bag where you fell while equipped gear stays with you. Ore veins and herbs appear across the map, and players can raise a PvP flag in the wild for more XP and loot at the cost of being hunted by other flagged heroes.
