About eCash

eCash is a Bitcoin hard fork with drivechains. This hub lists airdrops that run on eCash, each with a dated status and the project's official links.

eCash (ECX) is a hard fork of Bitcoin that adds drivechains, opt-in sidechains meant for privacy, scale and experimentation, while leaving the main chain's rules untouched. It starts from Bitcoin's ledger. Its site sets mainnet activation at Bitcoin block 973,728, the next difficulty adjustment, after an alpha rehearsal at block 963,648 and a beta at block 967,680. It names BIP 300 and BIP 301, drivechains and blind merged mining, as the technical basis.

eCash airdrops FAQ

What is eCash?

eCash is a new chain forked from Bitcoin that starts from Bitcoin's ledger and adds drivechains, opt-in sidechains for privacy, scale and experimentation. Its site presents the fork as a way to ship upgrades without changing the main chain's rules. Its token is ECX.

When does the eCash mainnet start?

The eCash mainnet is tied to Bitcoin block 973,728, the next difficulty adjustment. As of 28 October 2026, the project's countdown estimates 29 October 2026 at 16:18 UTC and says the date shifts with Bitcoin block times. An alpha ran at block 963,648 and a beta at block 967,680.

Do I have to claim ECX, or register for the snapshot?

No claim, no form and no snapshot registration is required, according to the eCash site. At block 973,728 every Bitcoin address is credited with ECX at 1:1 against BTC. The site adds that wallet access and replay protection still matter, and it keeps a how-to-claim page for details.

Does the eCash fork change my BTC?

No. The eCash site states that your BTC is untouched, because eCash is a separate chain that starts from Bitcoin's ledger. The credit of ECX at block 973,728 is described as additional to your existing Bitcoin balance, one ECX for each BTC held at the address.
