What is HyENA?
HyENA is a trading platform that calls itself the internet trading engine with native rewards. It offered trading in any asset around the clock, with an emphasis on capital efficiency, and collateral on the platform is denominated in USDe.
Besides trading, HyENA ran HLPe deposits and an affiliate programme that pays on a 30-day cycle through a referrals page.
As of 28 August 2026, HyENA announced that it is sunsetting and that all of its markets will be settled. A guide in the docs covers settlement, HLPe withdrawals, rewards and collateral conversion, and the project said it would keep this material online through at least 30 September 2026.
How HyENA works
Traders held USDe as margin and traded markets on the HyENA interface. The guide separates accounts with Hyperliquid access, which convert and withdraw USDe directly at app.hyperliquid.xyz, from email sign-up accounts, which use an embedded wallet.
USDe rewards had two layers, a base rate and a boosted bonus rate, each measured by a weekly Thursday snapshot. The final issuance took place on 27 August 2026, and amounts earned up to then can be claimed on the rewards page while the site is online.
HyENA points were a separate scheme that ended before the wind-down began, with no closing snapshot, conversion ratio or distribution. They hold no monetary value, and no token is planned.

Step 1: Identify your account type
The guide gives different conversion routes for accounts with Hyperliquid access, for email sign-up accounts that have not used hyperliquid.xyz directly, and for unified versus non-unified margin accounts. Work out which description fits your account.
Step 2: Claim your USDe rewards
While the site stayed online, USDe earned up to the 27 August 2026 final issuance could be collected from the rewards page.
Step 3: Withdraw and convert your balance
Accounts with Hyperliquid access converted and withdrew USDe directly at app.hyperliquid.xyz, and email sign-up accounts did the USDe to USDC swap through the Based website at app.based.one. Non-unified margin accounts first moved USDe from the HyENA DEX balance to the spot balance through a dedicated interface, while unified margin accounts already had it in spot. Standard Hyperliquid fees applied to conversion, and the sunset guide also names a Stargate bridge-out option.
Step 4: Export the wallet on email accounts
The guide asked email sign-up accounts to export the embedded wallet's private key while the site was available, and said wind-down resources would stay up through at least 30 September 2026, after which the interface redirects to app.based.one. That date has passed, so check whether the HyENA site still loads.
