LayerZero ZRO airdrop step by step tutorial
The LayerZero airdrop was a ZRO token claim run by the LayerZero Foundation, open from June 20 through September 20 after a post dated 20 June 2024. It has ended as of 2 November 2026. Eligible wallets claimed their ZRO by donating $0.10 in USDC, USDT or ETH per ZRO to Protocol Guild, a mechanism the Foundation called Proof-of-Donation and said was not an airdrop.

As of 2 November 2026, the LayerZero Foundation's ZRO Claim post of 20 June 2024 gave a claim window of June 20 through September 20, which has closed, and LayerZero's current site describes enterprise products and shows no open rewards, points or airdrop campaign.
LayerZero's ZRO claim ran from June 20 to September 20 and asked a $0.10 donation per ZRO. See how the claim worked, what it cost and where it stands.
What is LayerZero?
LayerZero is a cross-chain infrastructure company that says its technology underpins global finance. Its interoperability product connects hundreds of blockchains, applications and assets, and asset issuers use it to deploy their tokens on many chains and keep them running there.
The OFT, a smart contract standard, sits at the centre of that product and lets any token work across chains while keeping its liquidity whole. LayerZero says over 80% of all cross-chain volume moves across its rails.
The site also describes three other products: Console, an enterprise control plane for multichain assets; Zero, which it calls the world's first heterogeneous blockchain; and ATLAS, a headless exchange built on top of Zero.
How LayerZero works
Issuers put a token on several chains with the OFT standard, and LayerZero handles the offchain infrastructure behind it.
The LayerZero Foundation called the ZRO distribution a Proof-of-Donation claim, not an airdrop, with a claim window of June 20 through September 20. Holders first checked an allocation on an eligibility checker kept by the Foundation. They then claimed from one of seven chains. Claims from every chain except Arbitrum needed a LayerZero message, because Arbitrum was the coordination chain for the claim contract and processed claims atomically.
Each claim required a donation of $0.10 in USDC, USDT or native ETH per ZRO, sent to Protocol Guild, with the Foundation matching donations up to $10 million. The post said 85,000,000 ZRO were available to claim, and any ZRO left unclaimed was to be redistributed to LayerZero core users once the claim process ended.
The ZRO airdrop
The campaign paid ZRO, LayerZero's token, to eligible wallets that claimed it. The post said 85,000,000 ZRO were available to claim, and each claimant donated $0.10 in USDC, USDT or ETH per ZRO to Protocol Guild. Eligibility was looked up on the Foundation's checker, and the claim window ran from June 20 through September 20.
Step by step: how to get the ZRO airdrop
Kept for reference: this is how the campaign worked while it ran.
Stay safe: a real airdrop never asks for your seed phrase or private key. Use only the official links on this page, and treat any message that offers help with a claim as a scam.
Step 1: Check your allocation
Eligible users looked up their ZRO allocation on the eligibility checker the LayerZero Foundation pointed to in its ZRO Claim post.
Step 2: Use only the official claim link
The claim went live on June 20 at 11:00 am UTC, and the Foundation said it would tweet the claim link from @LayerZero_Fndn.
Step 3: Pick a supported chain
Claims could be made from Ethereum, Arbitrum, Optimism, Base, Polygon, BNB Chain or Avalanche. Transactions needed gas on the chain you chose.
Step 4: Donate to Protocol Guild
The claim required a donation of $0.10 in USDC, USDT or native ETH per ZRO. The money went to Protocol Guild, and the Foundation matched donations up to $10 million.
Step 5: Receive and move your ZRO
Once claimed, ZRO could be transferred between the seven chains through Stargate. The window closed on September 20, so the claim can no longer be made.
LayerZero airdrop FAQ
Is the LayerZero airdrop still live?
- No. As of 2 November 2026, the ZRO claim has ended: the LayerZero Foundation's post of 20 June 2024 gave a claim window of June 20 through September 20. LayerZero's current site describes its enterprise products and shows no open rewards, points or airdrop campaign.
What is the ZRO token?
- ZRO is the token the LayerZero Foundation distributed through its claim. The Foundation's post says 85,000,000 ZRO were available to claim, and that any unclaimed ZRO would be redistributed back to LayerZero core users after the end of the claim process.
Did claiming ZRO cost anything?
- Yes. Claiming required a donation of $0.10 in USDC, USDT or native ETH per ZRO, paid to Protocol Guild, and the Foundation matched donations up to $10 million. Transactions also needed gas on the source chain you picked.
Which chains could ZRO be claimed on?
- ZRO could be claimed from Ethereum, Arbitrum, Optimism, Base, Polygon, BNB Chain and Avalanche. Arbitrum was the coordination chain and processed claims atomically, while claims from the other six needed a LayerZero message.
Did the LayerZero claim need KYC?
- The ZRO Claim post describes no identity verification. Eligibility came from an allocation shown on the Foundation's checker, and the claim itself required a wallet transaction with the $0.10 per ZRO donation.
