What is The Sandbox?
The Sandbox is a game creation platform whose current product, The Sandbox Studio, is presented on its homepage as an AI game engine for creators. A creator starts with a prompt, then generates, iterates and tests a game before distributing it to the browser, mobile or desktop.
The project also runs Game Jams, which are creator contests with a prize pool, entered through a Sandbox account. For players it has run seasonal events called Alpha Seasons, built around quests and rewards paid in SAND.
How The Sandbox works
The Sandbox is built around experiences made by creators. Creators build them with the project's tools, publish them, and players visit them to play and complete quests.
Alpha Season 6 was a season laid over those experiences. It began on 24 September 2025, ran for nine weeks and featured 30 experiences from more than 24 brands. Progress was counted in Ethos Points (EP). A Normal Quest gave 5 EP, and an Adventure Quest gave 90 EP.
EP also fed the Battle Pass, which has a Free track and a Premium track. The Premium track needs a purchased Premium Pass, and its top reward at level 35 was the SAND Pool Key. The 250,000 SAND pool was divided among key holders by their total EP, so a higher EP total meant a bigger slice.
The guide also listed 50 NFTs available during the season. Friends who were KYC'd and reached level 10 in the Battle Pass earned the inviting player extra EP.
The SAND airdrop
Alpha Season 6 paid in SAND and NFTs. Players earned Ethos Points from quests and bonus actions, and those points set each person's share of a 250,000 SAND pool. Entering the pool required the SAND Pool Key, the top Premium reward at level 35 of the Battle Pass, which needs a purchased Premium Pass. The guide also lists 50 NFTs available during the season.

Step 1: Read the Alpha Season 6 guide
The Alpha Season 6 guide laid out the nine week season, its quests, the Battle Pass and the SAND pool.
Step 2: Start in the Alpha Season 6 Hub
The season opened on 24 September 2025, and the Hub was the place to begin, with quests and daily activations.
Step 3: Complete quests to earn EP
Each Normal Quest gave 5 EP and each Adventure Quest gave 90 EP. Those points raised your Battle Pass level and your weight in the pool.
Step 4: Reach level 35 on the Premium track
A purchased Premium Pass unlocked the Premium track, and its last reward at level 35 was the SAND Pool Key.
Step 5: Share in the SAND pool
Key holders divided the 250,000 SAND pool according to their total EP, so a higher total meant a larger slice.
The Sandbox airdrop FAQ
Is the The Sandbox airdrop still live?
- No. As of 29 October 2026, Alpha Season 6 has ended. The blog guide shows it began on 24 September 2025 and ran for nine weeks, and the current homepage and 2026 blog show no newer Alpha Season open to join. The homepage now promotes Game Jams.
Which token did The Sandbox Alpha Season 6 pay?
- SAND. The guide describes a 250,000 SAND pool for SAND Pool Key holders, with each person's slice set by their total Ethos Points. It also lists 50 NFTs available during the season.
Did The Sandbox Alpha Season 6 cost money to join?
- Partly. The Battle Pass has a Free track, but the Premium track needed a purchased Premium Pass. The SAND Pool Key, the last Premium reward, was the entry to the 250,000 SAND pool, so the pool itself required that purchase.
Does The Sandbox airdrop need KYC?
- The Alpha Season 6 guide ties KYC to the friend referral bonus: a friend had to be KYC'd and reach level 10 in the Battle Pass to earn the inviting player extra EP. It gives no KYC rule for earning EP in the season itself.
How were rewards earned in Alpha Season 6?
- Players earned Ethos Points mainly from quests, with 5 EP per Normal Quest and 90 EP per Adventure Quest. Reaching level 35 on the Premium track gave the SAND Pool Key, and key holders split the 250,000 SAND pool by total EP.
