What is Ambios Network?
Ambios Network is a decentralized physical infrastructure network (DePIN) that collects environmental data from people and devices. Its homepage calls it the world's largest environmental monitoring DePIN, and it positions itself as a source of real-world environmental data for communities and AI systems.
Contributors feed the network in two ways. Air quality sensors, such as the IN5, the Sensedge Mini and the AirGradient Open Air outdoor monitor, stream readings continuously. AmbiGo!, a mobile app, lets users submit localized environmental observations from their phones. Ambios says the devices that connect to its network are certified and integrated by the project.
Contributors are rewarded in AMBIOS, a token that has launched on Solana Mainnet. Ambios also runs an Explorer where contributors can follow their data and rewards, and it sells sensors through its own shop.
How Ambios Network works
Each sensor sends a stream of readings to the network, and AmbiGo! users add their own observations from the app. The network checks the incoming data, and only valid streams count toward rewards.
Rewards start as points. A sensor earns them each day for the valid readings it delivered the previous day, and AmbiGo! activity adds more. Every point converts to one token. Once a fortnight, the balance is turned into tokens and sent to the wallet saved on the My Wallet page, while an account that never linked a wallet receives nothing. Points differ by device type, so a sensor and the app do not earn the same amount.
The first distributions went out through Streamflow, where holders claimed their tokens in hourly portions, each costing a small SOL fee. Ambios also said a claim system inside the My Wallet page was targeted for July. The project has not announced a final end date for the rewards.
