Aptos APT airdrop step by step tutorial
The Aptos airdrop was a distribution of APT tokens by the Aptos Foundation to people who applied for one of its Incentivized Testnets or minted the APTOS:ZERO testnet NFT. Checked on 29 October 2026, the campaign has finished: the Foundation's October 2022 announcement names those two eligible groups and says there are no other airdrops. Taking part meant applying or minting, then claiming on the official Aptos Community page after an email from the Foundation.

What is Aptos?
Aptos is a Layer 1 blockchain, and the Aptos Foundation is the body dedicated to the adoption, decentralization and advancement of its ecosystem. The project's homepage says it was founded by the team behind Libra/Diem and aims at value movement that is instant, cheaper and more reliable, built to scale for billions.
The whitepaper names scalability, safety, reliability and upgradeability as the key principles of the design. It says the chain integrates the Move language for transaction execution, and that the Move prover, a formal verifier for smart contracts, adds safeguards for contract behavior.
The network's token is APT. Beyond the chain itself, the Foundation says its mission is to provide funding, programs and support across the Aptos ecosystem.
How Aptos works
Aptos processes transactions in stages that run side by side. The whitepaper says transaction dissemination, block metadata ordering, parallel transaction execution, batch storage and ledger certification all operate concurrently. It adds that, unlike other parallel execution engines, Aptos does not require developers to know upfront which data a transaction reads and writes.
The airdrop rewarded two groups of community platform users. Those who completed an application for Incentivized Testnet 1, 2 or 3 were eligible for 300 tokens, and those who minted an APTOS:ZERO testnet NFT were eligible for 150 tokens. For the NFT, the original minter qualified, not the current owner.
The Foundation filtered out accounts with more than 20 connected wallets or an IP address shared with more than 20 other accounts. Users subject to sanctions or located in sanctioned territories were excluded too, as were Foundation and Labs employees and their families.
Eligible users received an official email from the Foundation and claimed on the official Aptos Community page. The announcement gives a total of 23,454,750 APT tokens for 124,828 participants.
The APT airdrop
The airdrop paid APT tokens: 300 to users who completed an application for Incentivized Testnet 1, 2 or 3, and 150 to users who minted the APTOS:ZERO testnet NFT, counted for the original minter only. The announcement totals 23,454,750 APT tokens across 124,828 participants. Accounts with over 20 connected wallets or an IP shared with more than 20 other accounts, and sanctioned users, were not eligible.
Step by step: how to get the APT airdrop
Kept for reference: this is how the campaign worked while it ran.
Stay safe: a real airdrop never asks for your seed phrase or private key. Use only the official links on this page, and treat any message that offers help with a claim as a scam.
Step 1: Apply for an Incentivized Testnet
Complete an application for one of the Aptos Incentivized Testnets (AIT 1, 2 or 3) on the community platform. This group was eligible for 300 tokens.
Step 2: Or mint the APTOS:ZERO testnet NFT
Minting the commemorative APTOS:ZERO testnet NFT made the original minter eligible for 150 tokens. A later owner of the NFT did not qualify.
Step 3: Wait for the Foundation's email
Eligible users were told by an official email from the Aptos Foundation. The airdrop announcement gives the sender and the selection criteria.
Step 4: Claim on the official Aptos Community page
Aptos tokens could only be claimed through the official Aptos Community page. The announcement lists no other claim route.
