AVAX
Avalanche airdrops
Avalanche is a proof-of-stake network of blockchains that no single actor owns: validators stake AVAX, its native token, to secure the Primary Network, whose C-Chain runs the Ethereum Virtual Machine and has used the Continuous Execution VM since the Helicon upgrade on 22 September 2026. To join an airdrop on the C-Chain you need an EVM-compatible wallet set to chain ID 43114 and a little AVAX, which pays fees on the Primary Network.

Avalanche airdrops FAQ
What is Avalanche?
- Avalanche is a network of blockchains. Its Primary Network runs 3 blockchains: the C-Chain for Ethereum-style smart contracts written in Solidity, the P-Chain for validators and new Avalanche L1s, and the X-Chain for Avalanche Native Tokens. Projects can also launch their own Avalanche L1 with its own fee token and validator set. A node becomes a Primary Network validator by staking at least 2,000 AVAX.
Which wallet do I need for Avalanche airdrops?
- For airdrops on the C-Chain, an EVM-compatible wallet: Avalanche says the wallets the industry already trusts work natively on it. Add the network as Avalanche C-Chain, chain ID 43114, currency AVAX, and keep a little AVAX for fees. An airdrop on a separate Avalanche L1 can use that chain's own settings and fee token. A legitimate airdrop never asks for your seed phrase or private key.
What is the AVAX token used for?
- AVAX is Avalanche's native token. The Avalanche Builder Hub says it pays transaction fees, which are burned, secures the network through staking, and serves as a unit of account between Avalanche L1s. Its supply is capped at 720 million: 360 million AVAX were minted at genesis, and validators receive newly minted AVAX as rewards when a staking period ends successfully.
