MetaMask LINEA airdrop step by step tutorial
The MetaMask airdrop is MetaMask Rewards, a points program inside the MetaMask wallet that was taking opt-ins for its first season on 1 November 2026. After you opt in, trading perps or swapping tokens through MetaMask earns points, and the rewards listed for the season include a share of over $30 million in LINEA, trading fee discounts and future token allocations. Taking part means updating the mobile app and trading through it.

What is MetaMask?
MetaMask is a self-custodial crypto app for trading, sending and spending digital assets, built so that the user alone controls the keys to their money. It runs as a mobile app for iOS and Android, as a browser extension and on the web, and its homepage describes it as free to get.
Inside the app, people can swap tokens, trade perpetual futures (perps), forecast the outcome of events in prediction markets and buy tokenized stocks, each through partners the homepage names. It also offers a Money Account for earning on stablecoins and a MetaMask Card for spending.
MetaMask Rewards is the loyalty program built into the wallet. It ties points to the trading a user already does through the app, rather than to a separate task list.
How MetaMask works
MetaMask is self-custodial: the wallet owner holds the private keys, and when a trade is confirmed the wallet signs a transaction that executes directly on a blockchain network. Swaps gather quotes from several providers, and the perps section lets users go long or short on 270+ assets with up to 50x leverage.
MetaMask Rewards runs on points. Once you opt in, each eligible perps trade or token swap through MetaMask earns points, and the Rewards tab in the mobile app shows your total, your progress through levels and any active boosts. A boost multiplies the points for specific trades: swaps on the Linea network earn double points through a 2x boost. Accounts added to a profile with at least $1,250 of past swap and bridge volume also earn a loyalty bonus of up to 50,000 points.
There is no cap on points in Season 1, and the more points you earn, the more LINEA you qualify for. Progress resets each season, and the previous season's activity comes back as bonuses at the start of the next. Rewards are claimed from the Levels list in the Rewards tab. The rewards page says any Linea payout depends on a set of activities and on estimates that may change; no closing day is listed there for the first season.

Step 1: Update the MetaMask mobile app
Install or update MetaMask on iOS or Android to version 7.57 or higher. The app is available from the MetaMask download page.
Step 2: Opt in on the Rewards tab
Open the app, tap the Rewards tab at the bottom of the screen and opt in. A sign-up bonus of 250 points is offered, subject to eligibility, and the help center guide covers joining.
Step 3: Add the accounts you trade with
Use the settings icon in the Rewards section to add every trading account to your profile so their activity counts together. Hardware wallet accounts are not supported yet.

The Rewards tab shows your total, your level and active boosts, and the Activity tab lists each action that earned points.
Step 6: Claim rewards from the Levels list
Tap Levels in the Rewards tab to see your unlocked rewards, then claim what is available.
