What is Morpho?

Morpho is a decentralized, noncustodial lending protocol built for the Ethereum Virtual Machine. It lets people lend and borrow ERC20 and ERC4626 tokens against collateral, and its docs describe it as a lending primitive on which immutable, permissionless lending markets are created.

The docs split Morpho into two lending protocols that coexist: Variable Rate Markets (Blue) and Fixed Rate Markets (Midnight). On top of the markets sit Morpho Vaults, where depositors choose curated vaults and keep their positions under their own control. Any individual, DAO or protocol can create and manage a vault.

MORPHO is the protocol's governance token, and holders vote on changes to the protocol. The Morpho Association, a France-registered association of the main contributors, hosts one of the web interfaces for using the protocol.

How Morpho works

A Morpho vault works by pooling deposits and lending them out. You deposit an asset such as USDC or ETH and receive ERC4626 receipt tokens that represent your share. The vault places the deposit into Morpho markets, where borrowers post collateral and pay interest on what they borrow. That interest accrues to the vault, so the receipt token's price rises, and you can redeem the tokens for the underlying asset at any time.

Rewards come in two forms in Morpho's own material. The docs say many vaults earn extra incentives beyond base lending yield through reward campaigns, and that claiming uses Merkle-proof distribution via Merkl. They do not list a dated campaign, an amount or an end date.

The MORPHO token reached holders through other routes. Morpho's governance has distributed tokens to protocol users and continues to distribute them as rewards. Binance's HODLer Airdrops announcement of 3 October 2025 set aside 6,500,000 MORPHO for BNB subscribers in Simple Earn and On-Chain Yields, with balance snapshots taken at random periods. Eligible users received the tokens in their Spot Accounts within 24 hours of the announcement.

The Morpho (MORPHO) airdrop

The Binance HODLer airdrop paid MORPHO to users who kept BNB in Binance's Simple Earn or On-Chain Yields products, with 6,500,000 MORPHO (0.65% of supply) set aside. It required account verification and an eligible country of residence, and it has ended. Morpho's docs also mention vault reward campaigns for depositors, paid through Merkl, but show no dated campaign today.

Step by step: how to get the Morpho (MORPHO) airdrop

Kept for reference: this is how the campaign worked while it ran.

Stay safe: a real airdrop never asks for your seed phrase or private key. Use only the official links on this page, and treat any message that offers help with a claim as a scam.

  1. Step 1: Put BNB into Binance Earn products

While the HODLer airdrop ran, qualifying meant keeping BNB in Binance's Simple Earn or On-Chain Yields products. Balances were read from snapshots, and a position only counted when it stood above 0.01 BNB.

  2. Step 2: Complete account verification

Binance required identity verification and a country of residence on its eligible list before a user could take part.

  3. Step 3: Receive MORPHO in the Spot Account

Eligible users received the tokens in their Binance Spot Account within 24 hours of the announcement, with no separate claim step.

  4. Step 4: Deposit into a Morpho vault

To use Morpho directly, pick a curated vault on the Morpho vaults page, connect a wallet and deposit an asset. You receive receipt tokens and can redeem them for the asset later.

  5. Step 5: Check the rewards guide for vault campaigns

Vault reward campaigns are claimed through Merkl, and the rewards integration guide in the docs covers how they are tracked and claimed.

Morpho airdrop FAQ

Is the Morpho airdrop still live?

No. As of 1 November 2026, the Binance HODLer airdrop, announced on 3 October 2025, has ended, and the MORPHO token has been transferable since 21 November 2024. Morpho's docs mention vault reward campaigns claimed through Merkl, but they show no dated campaign or sign-up to join.

What is the MORPHO token?

MORPHO is the Morpho Protocol's governance token, and holders vote on changes to the protocol. Its maximum supply is 1,000,000,000 MORPHO. Transferability was enabled on 21 November 2024, and only the wrapped version of MORPHO is transferable, not the legacy token.

Did the Morpho airdrop need KYC?

Yes, for the Binance HODLer airdrop: Binance required account verification and an eligible country or region of residence. The Morpho vaults themselves are used through a wallet, and the docs state that it is your responsibility to check whether you may use the protocols under applicable law.

How many MORPHO tokens did the Binance HODLer airdrop give out?

Binance set aside 6,500,000 MORPHO for the HODLer airdrop, which is 0.65% of the token's total supply. Qualifying users received them in their Spot Accounts within 24 hours of the announcement, and only balances above 0.01 BNB at a snapshot counted toward the calculation.

How are Morpho vault rewards claimed?

The docs say vault reward claims use Merkle-proof distribution via Merkl. Depositing means putting an asset such as USDC into a vault, where it stays yours but earns variable yield from borrower interest. The docs show no dated campaign or amount for extra incentives.
