What is Off The Grid?
Off The Grid is a battle royale shooter with a cyberpunk setting, made by Gunzilla Games, and playing it costs nothing. Matches mix PvP and PvE in a harsh world, and players switch cyberlimbs (more than 30 are available) and use weapons that can be customised.
Early Access began in 2024, and the game's FAQ gave October 2026 as the planned month for full release. As of 27 October 2026, the GUNZ site still lists Off The Grid as free to play in Early Access. On PC it is available through Steam and Epic.
NFTs are an optional extra. The project says the game is playable without them, so a player who ignores that side loses nothing in the match itself.
How Off The Grid works
A session in Off The Grid starts with finding a loot box called a HEX. The player carries it to an extraction location and has to survive long enough to get it out. A HEX that makes it out, or parts of one, can be turned into an NFT, which the player may keep or trade on the game's marketplace or elsewhere. Nobody has to take that step.
The GUNZ platform has its own token, GUN. It pays for items on the marketplace, and players can also earn it by completing in-game challenges.
The token's launch campaign ran through a Binance Launchpool, where users locked BNB, FDUSD or USDC to farm GUN. Farming ran from 28 March 2025 to 30 March 2025, and Binance opened trading for GUN at 13:00 UTC on 31 March 2025. As of 27 October 2026 that campaign is over, and GUN already trades.
Off The Grid has not announced a further token distribution for players.
