What is River?
River is a chain-abstraction stablecoin system built around satUSD, an omni-CDP stablecoin. Its docs describe a module where a user locks assets on Chain A and receives satUSD on Chain B, with no bridging of the assets, so collateral, yield and liquidity are not tied to one network.
satUSD is over-collateralized, and the assets held against it are BTC, ETH, BNB and liquid staking tokens. A holder who stakes it receives satUSD+, which shares in protocol revenue. Smart Vault is a separate deposit product for assets such as USDT, BTC or ETH, described as carrying no liquidation risk.
River4FUN is the part of the project where social activity and staking earn River Pts. The docs name LayerZero's OFT standard as the base that lets satUSD be minted natively on a destination chain.
How River works
The product loop starts with getting satUSD. A user can put BTC, ETH, BNB or liquid staking tokens up as collateral on a source chain, with the satUSD minted natively on a different destination chain, or swap USDT, USDC or USD1 for it at 1:1. Staking the satUSD gives satUSD+, which shares protocol revenue.
Rewards come as River Pts. River4FUN pays points for connecting an X account, posting, referring and voting, and staking any token accrues River Pts daily according to the docs. Spending satUSD in apps such as Pendle, PancakeSwap, Segment or LayerBank raises the points earned by a 5 to 25× multiplier, per the docs.
Points turn into tokens on the app's airdrop page, which labels the feature Dynamic Airdrop Conversion 3.0 and says points can be converted into tokens along a dynamic conversion curve within a conversion period.
