What is Usual?
Usual is a decentralized issuer of a fiat-backed stablecoin that hands ownership, governance and value to its community through the USUAL token.
Its core stablecoin, USD0, is backed by tokenized Real-World Assets, mainly US Treasury Bills, sourced from institutional providers such as Hashnote, M0 and Superstate. The reserves can be verified on-chain, and USD0 is designed to be used across DeFi. Usual is deployed on Ethereum (its primary chain), Arbitrum, Base and BNB Chain.
What sets Usual apart, in its own description, is that it redistributes ownership and governance to its community instead of keeping the revenue for the issuer. USUAL holders govern the protocol, control the treasury and vote on collateral decisions.
How Usual works
Usual takes in USDC or eligible tokenized Treasury assets and gives back USD0. Locking USD0 produces bUSD0 (bonded USD0, formerly called USD0++), a transferable position that earns daily USUAL rewards. USUAL holders can stake it as USUALx, a transferable token that represents the staked amount. USUALx holders who lock receive weekly USD0 revenue distributions.
The airdrop rewarded Pills, the points people had accumulated before launch. The blog announcement of 18 December 2024 says those Pills could be claimed as USUAL. Wallets in the 98.5% majority could claim everything instantly through the Fair Launch option, with no conditions.
The top 1.5% of wallets received 10% of their allocation at once and then chose for the rest. They could exit immediately by paying a contribution to the DAO treasury in USD0++, a payment that fell in a straight line over six months. Or they could vest over six months, with the first unlock on 18 January 2025 and the last on 18 June 2025.
After launch, USUAL rewards were distributed daily, and each day users could claim what they had earned 7 days earlier. Usual has not announced a new Pills season.
The USUAL airdrop
The airdrop paid USUAL, Usual's governance and revenue-sharing token, to people who had accumulated Pills. Of all wallets, 98.5% could claim their full amount instantly with no conditions. The top 1.5% received 10% immediately and either paid a USD0++ contribution to exit or vested the remainder until 18 June 2025. The claim opened on 18 December 2024 and the campaign has ended.
Step by step: how to get the USUAL airdrop
Kept for reference: this is how the campaign worked while it ran.
Stay safe: a real airdrop never asks for your seed phrase or private key. Use only the official links on this page, and treat any message that offers help with a claim as a scam.
Step 1: Read the claim announcement
The Usual blog announced on 18 December 2024 that the airdrop was ready to claim by people who had accumulated Pills. The post, Airdrop: The Genesis of Ownership, set out the claim options.
Step 2: Check which claim route applied
Wallets in the 98.5% majority had the Fair Launch option, which released their whole USUAL allocation instantly with no conditions. The top 1.5% of wallets received 10% of their allocation at once and chose how to handle the rest.
Step 3: Choose an exit or vesting option if in the top 1.5%
A top-1.5% holder could exit fully by paying a DAO treasury contribution in USD0++ (now called bUSD0), or vest the rest over six months. The first vesting unlock was on 18 January 2025 and the final tranche on 18 June 2025.
Step 4: Stake claimed USUAL as USUALx if you want to
Staking USUAL gives you USUALx, a transferable token that carries voting rights and a share of protocol revenue. Details are in the USUAL governance token docs.
Step 5: Claim daily USUAL rewards
After the launch, USUAL rewards were distributed daily. Each day a user could claim the USUAL earned 7 days before.

Is there a USUAL token?
- Yes. USUAL is Usual's governance and revenue-sharing token, and the airdrop paid it to people who had accumulated Pills. It became tradable on Binance on 18 December 2024. Holders can stake it as USUALx, a transferable token, to take part in governance and protocol revenue sharing.

- Usual is deployed on Ethereum (its primary chain), Arbitrum, Base and BNB Chain. The claim announcement does not say which of them the claim used, so this listing does not assign the airdrop to a single chain.
Did the Usual airdrop need KYC?
- The announcement does not mention identity verification and does not describe the claim process. Nothing in it asks for an ID document or a face check, but it also gives no claim steps, so no requirement can be confirmed beyond holding accumulated Pills.
