Axiom (axiom.trade) is a Y Combinator-backed onchain trading platform with a built-in non-custodial wallet, and Fomo (fomo.family) is a social crypto trading app from FOMO Labs, Inc. that runs on iOS and the web. Axiom is built around execution tools; Fomo is built around following other traders. As checked on 28 October 2026, they differ on chains, wallet provider and published fees.
Axiom vs Fomo: what is the difference?
The main difference is focus. Axiom's home page lists an order execution engine, a wallet and social tracker and Hyperliquid perpetuals, and says its limit orders land in one block or less. Fomo's home page centres on the social side of trading: a social feed, leaderboards and real time notifications for what the best traders are buying.
| Criterion | Axiom | Fomo |
|---|---|---|
| Run by | Not named on its site or docs | FOMO Labs, Inc. |
| Where it runs | Website at axiom.trade | iOS app and website |
| Built around | Order execution, limit orders, wallet and social tracking | Social feed, leaderboards, alerts |
| Wallet | Non-custodial, secured by Turnkey | Non-custodial, generated and managed by Privy |
| Buying crypto in the app | Coinbase partnership, up to $500 per week without KYC | Apple Pay onramp |
| Perpetuals | Hyperliquid perpetuals listed | Defined in the terms, barred for U.S. persons |
Backing also differs. Axiom's docs say it was funded by Y Combinator and link to its directory listing. Fomo's blog reports a $75 million Series B led by Index Ventures, with Union Square Ventures and Benchmark taking part. Neither fact says anything about how either app performs for a given trader; they only say who stands behind each product.
Is the Fomo app legit?
Fomo publishes who operates it, but a named operator does not establish whether the app is safe. The facts below are checkable points about the company, not a safety rating.
What the company itself publishes:
- The terms name FOMO Labs, Inc. as the company behind the iOS app and the website.
- The terms are dated 17 August 2026.
- The blog reports a $75 million Series B led by Index Ventures, with Union Square Ventures and Benchmark.
- The home page cites 2,500,000 traders, which is Fomo's own figure and not an independent count.
- The terms state that the trading wallet is non-custodial and that the user is solely responsible for safeguarding access to it.
A reader weighing the app would also note what is not published: a percentage for Fomo's own fee, and a full list of supported chains. Fomo's blog does show regular product updates, with monthly recaps and posts on its web version and perpetuals.
Which chains does each support?
Axiom's docs FAQ says Axiom currently supports Solana, with more chains to come. Its home page does not describe the supported chains in words.
Fomo does not publish a complete chain list either. Its home page describes the app as multichain and gasless, and its blog recaps carry these headlines:
- September 2025: "Base Chain, Friends Feed, and Going Multichain".
- October 2025: "BNB Chain Launch, Dynamic PnL, and Social Trading Upgrades".
- November 2025: "Monad Mainnet, Full App Redesign, and New Chart Tools".
Fomo's web announcement also mentions swaps across chains. To browse listings by chain on this site, see Solana airdrops, Base airdrops and BNB Smart Chain airdrops.
Who holds the keys in each app?
Both products describe a non-custodial wallet, built on different infrastructure providers. Non-custodial here means the app's operator is not described as holding the funds; the user controls the private keys through the provider's setup.
Axiom. Axiom's wallet relies on Turnkey for key management and is described as fully non-custodial. Axiom's FAQ adds that the assets you hold are always in your control. Axiom does not describe on its site or docs whether keys can be exported.
Fomo. Fomo's terms say the wallet is generated and managed by Privy, a third-party wallet infrastructure provider, at first signup or when a new wallet is created. The user can view the wallet's private keys and export the wallet. The terms also put the burden on the user to secure the logins tied to the wallet, such as the email account or Apple ID.
What fees does each charge?
Axiom publishes a tiered fee table; Fomo has not published a percentage for its own fee. As checked on 28 October 2026, Axiom's fee page lists a net fee that falls as a trader moves up a multiplier tier, with cashback paid in Solana.
| Tier | Multiplier | Net fee | Cashback |
|---|---|---|---|
| Wood | 1X | 0.95% | 0.05% |
| Gold | 3X | 0.85% | 0.15% |
| Champion | 5X | 0.75% | 0.25% |
The page also lists Bronze, Silver, Platinum and Diamond tiers between these rows.
On Solana, Axiom's Solana fees page adds network-side settings that work like a gas fee on other chains. The priority fee is the amount you pay for prioritization, with a default value of 0.001. There are also slippage limits and a choice of MEV protection modes.
Fomo separates what it charges itself from what outside providers charge to carry out a trade. It does not publish a rate for its own fee on its home page or in its terms, so a side-by-side percentage comparison with Axiom is not possible.
For funding, Axiom's partnership with Coinbase lets users buy up to $500 of crypto per week with no KYC. Fomo's January 2026 recap lists an Apple Pay onramp, and Fomo has not published a limit or fee for it.
How does the Fomo trading app work?
Fomo works as a wallet-backed trading app with a social layer: you sign up, fund the account, trade tokens and follow other traders. Its home page describes it as a way to trade any crypto in seconds, from memecoins to viral tokens.
- Sign up. A wallet is generated and managed by Privy at first signup.
- Fund. The January 2026 recap lists an Apple Pay onramp.
- Trade. Trades go through third-party infrastructure. Fomo's terms say the services are not a DEX, exchange or broker and do not process transactions.
- Follow. The feed, leaderboards and real time alerts show what other traders are doing.
- Switch devices. Fomo's web announcement says the web version uses the same account, balance and positions as the phone app.
Perpetual futures appear in the terms as a separate product, not available to U.S. persons or in U.S. markets.
Axiom's home page also advertises Axiom Points, earned through trading, referrals and quests; what is known about them is on the Axiom Exchange airdrop page, and how such programmes work in general is in the points programs guide.
Frequently asked questions
Does Axiom require KYC to buy crypto?
- Through Axiom's partnership with Coinbase, users can buy up to $500 worth of crypto per week without KYC. Axiom's docs repeat the $500 no-KYC limit on their buy crypto page. Axiom does not describe other identity checks on its home page or docs, so anything beyond that limit is not published.
Can people in the US use perpetuals on Fomo?
- Fomo's terms say perpetual futures are not available through its services to U.S. persons or in U.S. markets. The same sentence also excludes sanctioned persons and sanctioned countries or regions. Fomo's terms add that using a VPN or similar tool to get around these restrictions is prohibited.
Can Fomo be used on a computer?
- Yes. Fomo's home page says it is now available on web, and its web announcement says the desktop version shares the account, balance and positions of the phone app. The terms cover both the iOS app and the website.
What MEV protection modes does Axiom offer?
- Axiom's Solana fees page lists three MEV modes: Off, Reduced and Secure. Off offers no protection, Reduced routes through Jito but leaves some risk, and Secure gives the strongest protection but can be slower. The page recommends Secure where possible.
