Is the GPT Wars airdrop still live?
- No. On 9 October 2025 GPT Wars posted on X that after many tries and pivots it was shutting down operations. On 27 October 2026 its website gptwars.ai and its whitepaper site did not load, and the HyperPlay store link on this page redirected to a page that returned 404. There is no campaign left to join.
Did GPT Wars launch the GPTW token?
- GPTW was sold to the public on LCX, an exchange regulated under Liechtenstein's blockchain act, in a sale that opened on 27 December 2024. LCX's sale page gives a total supply of 1 billion GPTW and says tokens were locked for 3 months from the listing date, then released daily over 18 months. LCX ran the sale on behalf of Tango Labs Inc.
What happens to GPTW holders now that GPT Wars has shut down?
- The 9 October 2025 shutdown post said GPTW holders would receive an airdrop of GPTWAI in the coming days, that GPTWAI services would be sunset, and that the full game would be open-sourced on GitHub for any studio to build on. On 27 October 2026 the shutdown post was still the latest post shown on the GPT Wars X profile.
Was GPT Wars built on TON?
- The sources disagree. LCX's December 2024 sale page called GPT Wars the first AAA shooter survival game built on the TON blockchain, but the same page also describes it as a first-person shooter on SEI, and the team later launched GPTWAI, a prediction markets agent, in Virtuals. This listing files it under TON; the project's own whitepaper site was unreachable when checked on 27 October 2026.
Is GPT Wars legit?
- GPT Wars was a real project: LCX sold GPTW on behalf of Tango Labs Inc, a British Virgin Islands company, and the verified X account @gptwars, with about 46,700 followers, announced the shutdown itself. Because the project has closed, treat any site or bot that now offers GPT Wars or GPTWAI rewards with suspicion.
