What is Hybrid?
Hybrid is a Web3 project that builds AI agent tools. It has two main products: Atlas, a copilot that combines on-chain and off-chain data, and infrastructure for creating custom AI agents. The agents use a Mixture of Experts (MoE) framework, and Hybrid describes creating and monetizing them as plug-and-play.
Its docs describe a modular stack for developers: an Agent Builder SDK with templates and APIs, access to on-chain and off-chain data, decentralized storage on networks such as Filecoin, and account abstraction for smart wallets. That stack was first paired with a dedicated Layer 2, Hybrid L2, meant for AI workloads.
In June the project announced it was sunsetting that L2 to focus on usable products instead. Its token, HYB, powers Atlas and the other Hybrid products.
How Hybrid works
Hybrid works as a modular stack for AI agents. Developers build agents with the Agent Builder SDK, connect them to on-chain and off-chain data, store agent data on decentralized networks and let them act through smart wallets. Atlas, the first agent in the ecosystem, merges on-chain and off-chain data into insights for research and market tracking.
During the campaign, Hybrid Points were earned through social quests and testnet activity: using the faucet, making transactions and interacting with Atlas. Bridging tokens was also listed among the testnet activities. A later phase let users create their own AI agents and keep them private or make them public. Hybots NFT staking and a points leaderboard arrived in a separate update.
Hybrid's FAQ said the points could be converted into HYB tokens at the token generation event, and it gives no conversion rate or claim date. The testnet for Atlas and the Custom AI Agents Builder closed on 21 November 2024.

Step 1: Connect a self-custodial wallet
While the testnet ran, you linked your own self-custodial wallet to the Hybrid platform through the Hybrid app. The project's FAQ named Metamask and Trust Wallet as examples.
Step 2: Get testnet tokens from the faucet
The faucet issued testnet tokens, and using it was one of the activities that earned Hybrid Points.
Step 3: Bridge, transact and use Atlas
You earned points by bridging tokens, making transactions and chatting with the Web3 copilot on Atlas.
Step 4: Complete social quests
Social quests added to your Hybrid Points total alongside the testnet activity. A later phase also let you build a custom AI agent.

The project posts its announcements, including the testnet closing and the L2 sunset, on its blog.

Did the Hybrid airdrop cost anything or need KYC?
- It cost nothing but time. Participation started with connecting a self-custodial wallet and taking testnet tokens from a faucet. Identity verification is not part of the steps Hybrid describes, so KYC was not required for the testnet.
