What is peaq?
Peaq is a platform that lets robots and machines do business on every chain. On its homepage, peaq says machines using its stack can transact on their own and can also be held as tradable assets that investors back.
Its machine layer, peaqOS, is the software that lets a machine prove who it is, hold funds on more than one chain and build a track record of what it earns. From that record comes a credit grade that any outside party can check. Around it sit apps, agents and DePIN projects built on peaq by more than 60 teams across robotics, mobility and industrial use cases.
People can use the network by buying and staking the PEAQ token, or by taking a fractional stake in a real-world fleet of machines. Staking is done through a collator, and the yield it pays is tied to what machines do on the network.
How peaq works
A machine is registered once through peaqOS and receives an identity, wallets that work across chains and an NFT; every other service builds on that registration. Staking exists to protect the network: holders lock PEAQ with a collator, and their payouts depend on machine activity.
Get Real Season 2 added a points game on top of this. Points came from finishing tasks inside partner apps, and completing more quests raised the chance of a reward, while a leaderboard showed progress. Some tasks involved adding liquidity or swapping on peaq, and the season also introduced a version that works on phones.
