What is Velvet.Capital?

Velvet.Capital is a trading platform where people buy and sell onchain tokens from their own wallets, with spot markets, perpetual futures and yield strategies in one place. Its homepage describes trading infrastructure that runs across 9+ chains, with an AI copilot and MEV protection built in.

VelvetX is the app most users meet. Traders there move between networks without leaving the screen, watch what tracked wallets are doing (the docs count 13M+ indexed wallets) and put questions to the AI assistant.

The project also publishes a blog on Substack where each Gems epoch is announced, along with product news and trading competitions for specific tokens.

How Velvet.Capital works

Velvet works as a trading terminal: a user connects a wallet, picks a token and trades spot or perps from one interface. Each trade pays the network's gas and the DEX swap fee.

The Velvet Gems Campaign runs in epochs. During an epoch, activity earns Gems, and a user's position on the Gems leaderboard sets their share of the VELVET airdrop. The top-ranked user takes 5% of the Gems allocation, other Top 10 places have set shares, and the remaining ranks scale down.

Trading is described as one of the primary ways to earn Gems, and the Epoch 12 announcement says a perps trade earns Gems at 2x the spot rate for the same fees paid. Staking VELVET, inviting active traders and a higher 30 day rolling trading volume are listed there as further ways to raise Gems. Claiming Gems on consecutive days builds a streak bonus, which can be held at its maximum by claiming every day.

The blog index entry for Epoch 13 gives no allocation size.

The VELVET airdrop

The campaign pays VELVET at the end of each epoch, split by Gems ranking. Trading is one of the main ways to earn Gems, with perps earning Gems at 2x the spot rate for the same fees in the Epoch 12 rules, plus daily claims, staking and invites. Epoch 11 distributed over $1 million in VELVET, and the next airdrop is December 10th.

Step by step: how to get the VELVET airdrop

Stay safe: a real airdrop never asks for your seed phrase or private key. Use only the official links on this page, and treat any message that offers help with a claim as a scam.

  1. Step 1: Open the Velvet app

Go to VelvetX, which the Velvet docs call its flagship trading app. The Epoch 12 post says the Velvet app shows Gems rewards, your ranking and your progress, without naming which app.

  2. Step 2: Connect or create a wallet

Link a wallet you already use (MetaMask and Phantom are both named) or set up a fresh non-custodial one with an email or social login, then add the funds you plan to trade.

  3. Step 3: Trade spot or perps

Trade on the terminal, since trading is one of the main ways to earn Gems. Gems follow the fees you pay on your trades.

  4. Step 4: Claim your Gems every day

Return on consecutive days to claim Gems and build the streak bonus. You can also stake VELVET or invite active traders to raise your Gems.

  5. Step 5: Check your rank for the next airdrop

Follow your position on the Gems leaderboard in the app, and read the Epoch 13 announcement on the Velvet blog for the current epoch.
