What is Yield Basis?
Yield Basis is a protocol on Ethereum where liquidity providers put funds into Curve Cryptoswap pools that pair BTC or ETH with crvUSD, and collect the trading fees those pools generate.
Rather than supplying both sides of a pair, a depositor adds a single asset. The protocol borrows the crvUSD side itself, and the depositor receives yb-LP shares, an ERC-20 token that stands for a proportional stake in a Curve position held at 2× leverage.
The design is meant to remove the shortfall that ordinary two-asset pools suffer when prices move. A yb-LP share moves in step with the price of the asset deposited; trading fees add to that, while borrow interest and rebalancing costs reduce it.
How Yield Basis works
A deposit is a single asset. The protocol pairs it with a matching amount of crvUSD that it borrows and places both in a Curve pool. A leveraged AMM called LEVAMM holds the position near 2×, and when prices push leverage off target, arbitrageurs trading against it nudge it back.
The shares you receive can be held in two ways. Unstaked, they stay in your wallet and earn trading fees. Staked in the gauge, they earn YB emissions in place of those fees. Only staked shares have a watermark: after losses, they may redeem for less than you put in until their value recovers to that level.
The campaign is the LP Season 1 airdrop. The app's Airdrop page shows Total airdrop, Total claimed, Available to claim and Vesting end, then an LP Season 1 section with Total vested and Claimable, and a Claim button. Amounts are shown in YB. The Vesting end label shows a dash, so the page gives no date for it.
Separately, the Earn page says Token Yield earns YB emissions when you deposit liquidity, alongside Trading Yield from market activity.
The YB airdrop
The campaign pays YB through a vesting airdrop for LP Season 1. The app's Airdrop page lists the total airdrop, the amount claimed, the amount available to claim and a vesting end, and a Claim button withdraws what has vested. Separately, depositors who provide liquidity can earn YB emissions. The claim page does not state the eligibility rules or an end date.
Step by step: how to get the YB airdrop
Stay safe: a real airdrop never asks for your seed phrase or private key. Use only the official links on this page, and treat any message that offers help with a claim as a scam.
Step 1: Open the airdrop claim page
Go to the Yield Basis Airdrop page, headed "Withdraw your vesting airdrop".
Step 2: Connect your wallet
Press the Connect Wallet button at the top of the app and connect your wallet, then look at the LP Season 1 figures.
Step 3: Check your vesting figures
Read the LP Season 1 section for your total airdrop, the share vested and the YB that is claimable.
Step 4: Press Claim
Press Claim and confirm the transaction in your wallet to withdraw the vested YB. You pay the network fee for that transaction.
Step 5: Optionally stake to earn YB emissions
On the Earn page, depositing liquidity earns YB emissions only if you stake the yb-LP shares in the gauge. Unstaked shares earn trading fees instead, and staked shares carry watermark risk. The docs on providing liquidity walk through a first deposit.
Yield Basis airdrop FAQ
Is the Yield Basis airdrop still live?
- Yes, as of 29 October 2026. The Yield Basis app's Airdrop page is still headed "Withdraw your vesting airdrop" and has a Claim button for LP Season 1. The app shows no end date and no closed claim window. The Earn page also still invites depositors to earn YB emissions.
What token does the Yield Basis airdrop pay?
- It pays YB. The claim page shows its totals for LP Season 1 in YB, and the Earn page describes YB emissions for people who deposit liquidity. The claim page lists a vesting end but gives no date for it, so the vesting schedule is not stated there.
Which chain does Yield Basis run on?
- Yield Basis runs on Ethereum, according to its docs, using Curve Cryptoswap pools of BTC or ETH against crvUSD. The claim page itself does not name a chain.
Does the Yield Basis airdrop need KYC?
- No identity check appears on the claim page. It asks you to connect a wallet through the Connect Wallet button, then shows your LP Season 1 totals and a Claim button. Claiming is a wallet transaction, so a network fee applies.
How do you earn YB emissions on Yield Basis?
- You deposit liquidity into a market and stake the resulting yb-LP shares in the gauge, the market's staking contract. Staked shares earn YB emissions (shown as Token APR), while unstaked shares earn trading fees instead. The docs add that staked shares carry watermark risk after losses.
