Immutable X airdrops
Immutable X was Immutable's first Ethereum rollup, built with StarkWare as a customised deployment of StarkEx, and in early 2026 it was merged into Immutable Chain, Immutable's EVM-compatible gaming chain on Ethereum (network name Immutable zkEVM). Immutable X no longer processes new transactions, and ETH, IMX and other ERC-20 tokens on it were migrated to Immutable Chain, whose native token IMX pays for gas.

Is Immutable X still running?
- No. Immutable's docs say Immutable X was merged into Immutable Chain in early 2026 and that all Immutable X functionality is deprecated: its sequencer no longer processes new transactions, its marketplace has been removed and its explorer will be removed. ETH, IMX and other ERC-20 tokens were migrated to Immutable Chain and stay in the same wallet you used on Immutable X.
Which wallet do I need for Immutable airdrops?
- Immutable's own wallet is Passport: players sign in with Google, Apple or email and get a non-custodial wallet that works across Immutable games, with gas sponsorship available to Passport users. The migration notice also names MetaMask as a wallet used on Immutable X. Never send funds to a Passport address on a chain Passport does not support. A legitimate airdrop never asks for your seed phrase or private key.
What is the IMX token used for?
- IMX is the native token of Immutable Chain, issued by the IMX Ecosystem Foundation. On Immutable Chain it pays for gas and can be staked through that Foundation; on Ethereum it exists as an ERC-20. Bridging ERC-20 IMX from Ethereum through the canonical bridge credits native IMX on Immutable Chain, and withdrawals deliver ERC-20 IMX back on Ethereum.
