What is Ethos Network?

Ethos Network is a credibility platform that aims to build a more trusted web3 ecosystem by recording onchain who can be trusted and who to avoid. Its native token is WHUF, which the project says powers the network.

People gain or lose reputation through three actions: reviews, vouches and slashes. Together they produce the Ethos Credibility Score, a rating of how far a given person can be trusted. Other crypto platforms can build the score into their own products, and a Chrome integration exists that shows scores on Twitter and other sites.

Ethos was designed so that other interfaces and apps can build on its onchain contracts, and the Credibility Score is the first app to do so. The developer docs also describe a REST API for working with the network.

How Ethos Network works

Ethos records three kinds of onchain action about a person: reviews, vouches and slashes. A review is a light rating anyone can give. A vouch backs someone with a stake of WHUF. A slash is a penalty that the community votes on, and a passed slash can also affect the people who vouched for the target. All three feed the Ethos Credibility Score.

These acts combine into the score, which others can read at a glance.

The rewards campaign is Karma Season 1. Ethos XP was renamed Karma, and the season runs three months, with 15,000 WHUF split among the top 1,000. The Season 1 announcement covers who is eligible and how to earn Season Karma; the blog listing gives no claim date, per-task figures or share per winner.

A second product, Ethos Curators v2, pairs human verification with credibility to reward original content on X. Its beta launched on 22 October alongside Karma Season 1.

The WHUF airdrop

Karma Season 1 pays WHUF, the Ethos Network's token: 15,000 WHUF is split among the top 1,000 over a season of three months. Ethos XP is now called Karma, and Season Karma is what you earn while the season runs. The blog listing sends readers to the announcement post for who is eligible and how to earn, and it gives no claim date.
