What is Magma?
Magma is a liquid staking protocol on Monad that describes itself as community powered. You deposit MON into its pool and get gMON back, a liquid staking token meant for use in DeFi, while Magma hands the pooled stake to validators.
Two parts of the design involve validators. In Magma's auction, validators sell their blockspace, and the MEV that results is passed on to stakers, lifting their APY. With a gVault, a staker picks one particular validator and still ends up with the standard gMON token, the same one used in the rest of the protocol. gVaults are live on Monad.
The homepage also says community members help decide where the protocol heads over the long run, inside the Monad ecosystem.
How Magma works
Magma works as a pool. You stake MON and receive gMON, which can be used across DeFi. Magma then delegates the pooled stake to top validators, and stakers receive staking rewards plus extra APY from MEV that validators generate in the Magma auction. A gVault deposit follows the same path but is delegated directly to the validator whose vault you used, and it mints the same gMON.
The rewards campaign is Season 1 of the Magma Points Program, which the Magma blog announced on 26 November 2025. Its Points page is headed "EARN MAGMA POINTS" and ranks wallet addresses by points, with a column for who invited each address. The page also states that multipliers from indexed DeFi protocols will be applied retroactively.
The Points page lists no tasks, no snapshot date and no claim date. The Season 1 announcement on the blog is the place the project introduced the program.
The Magma Points airdrop
Season 1 of the Magma Points Program tracks Magma Points per wallet. The leaderboard on the Points page lists each wallet address with its point total and the address that invited it. The page states that multipliers from indexed DeFi protocols will be applied retroactively. It lists no tasks, snapshot date or claim date.
Step by step: how to get the Magma Points airdrop
Stay safe: a real airdrop never asks for your seed phrase or private key. Use only the official links on this page, and treat any message that offers help with a claim as a scam.
Step 1: Read the Season 1 announcement
The Magma blog introduced the program in Magma Points Program is Live!. Start there for the project's own description of Season 1.
Step 2: Open the Points page
The Points page shows the leaderboard, total unique wallets and total points. It also states that multipliers from indexed DeFi protocols will be applied retroactively, and it lists no tasks that earn points.
Step 3: Stake MON on Magma to use the protocol
On the Magma site, connect a wallet and stake MON to receive gMON. This is a deposit of your own MON and is how the protocol itself is used; the Points page does not say that staking earns points.
Step 4: Browse the DeFi and Ecosystem pages
Step 5: Look for your address on the leaderboard
Return to the Points page and check whether your wallet address appears with a points total.
Magma airdrop FAQ
Is the Magma airdrop still live?
- Yes, as of 29 October 2026 the Magma Points Program (Season 1) is live. Magma's Points page is headed "EARN MAGMA POINTS" and shows a leaderboard of wallet addresses and their points. The blog announced Season 1 on 26 November 2025, and nothing on the site or the blog shows the program closed or replaced.
Which token does the Magma Points Program use?
- Season 1 tracks Magma Points, which the Points page shows per wallet on its leaderboard as of 29 October 2026. The token on the staking side is gMON, which a MON stake returns to you. The Points page does not say how points relate to gMON or to any other token.
Does the Magma airdrop cost anything?
- The Points page states no sign-up fee, but staking MON on Magma is a deposit of your own MON, and in return you receive gMON. The Points page does not list the tasks that earn points, so it does not say whether staking counts toward them.
Which chain does Magma run on?
- Magma runs on Monad. The project's site calls Magma the community powered liquid staking protocol on Monad, and you stake MON, Monad's token, to receive gMON. Its gVaults, which let you choose a validator, are also live on Monad.
Does the Magma airdrop need KYC?
- No identity check appears on Magma's staking or Points pages, which show a wallet connection as the way in. The leaderboard lists wallet addresses only. If the project adds a requirement later, its own site or blog is where it would appear.
