Tari Rewards pays XTM to people who download and run the Tari Universe mining app on Mac, PC or Linux; status checked 29 October 2026.

What is Tari?

Tari is a proof-of-work layer 1 blockchain protocol that ordinary computer owners can mine from a laptop or desktop PC. Its project pages stress an ASIC-resistant algorithm, so that real users rather than bots receive the rewards, and a Rust implementation of Cerberus consensus aimed at parallel processing and low fees.

Tari Universe is the project's desktop application. It combines a miner, a wallet and an app launcher in one window, and it doubles as the way developers reach users with their own apps.

Tari's homepage also presents the Ootle, a smart-contract layer 2 for private money and on-chain assets. Developers write templates in Rust, compile them to WASM and can enter a launch contest that asks for submissions before November 11th.

How Tari works

Tari secures its network with proof of work. People who mine with their own computers help validate the chain and receive rewards for it, and the algorithm is built to resist ASIC hardware so that home machines stay competitive. Tari Universe packages the miner, a wallet and an app launcher, so mining starts from a single installed program.

The Tari Rewards campaign is this mining, paid in XTM. The rewards site tells visitors to download Tari Universe for Mac, PC or Linux, install it and run it, and says XTM follows from that.

The rewards site also carries FAQ entries about what share of the community allocation is being distributed now, what happens to unclaimed tokens, how to recognise the legitimate claim portal and whether Generation 0 or Generation 1 Yat holders who skipped quests and mining still receive rewards. The visible text of the site gives no percentage, claim deadline or answer to any of them.

The XTM airdrop

The Tari Rewards campaign pays XTM to people who mine with Tari Universe. Qualifying, as the rewards site describes it, means downloading the app for Mac, PC or Linux, installing it and running it. The site's FAQ also raises a community allocation, unclaimed tokens, a claim deadline and Generation 0 and Generation 1 Yat holders, but its visible text gives no amounts or answers.

Step by step: how to get the XTM airdrop

Stay safe: a real airdrop never asks for your seed phrase or private key. Use only the official links on this page, and treat any message that offers help with a claim as a scam.

  1. Step 1: Open the Tari Rewards site

Go to the Tari Rewards site, where the campaign is run and Tari Universe is offered for download.

  2. Step 2: Download Tari Universe for your system

Pick the version for your Mac, PC or Linux computer from the rewards site and download it.

  3. Step 3: Install the app

Run the installer for Tari Universe on your computer until the app is ready to open.

  4. Step 4: Run Tari Universe to mine

Start the app. The rewards site says that running it is how you begin earning XTM.

  5. Step 5: Read the FAQ on claims

Check the FAQ on the Tari Rewards site for its entries on the community allocation, unclaimed tokens and the claim deadline.

Tari airdrop FAQ

Is the Tari airdrop still live?

Does the Tari airdrop need KYC?

The rewards site's visible text mentions no identity check. It asks only that you download Tari Universe, install it and run it. Its FAQ does include a question about identifying the legitimate claim portal, which it does not answer in the visible text.
