Worldcoin WLD airdrop step by step tutorial

The Worldcoin airdrop was a monthly program that paid WLD to people who had proved they were unique humans with World ID. As of 27 October 2026 it has ended for new participants: since 1 June 2026 no new cycles are created or renewed. People enrolled before that date, who also claimed a first airdrop, can keep claiming each month until their 12-month cycle finishes.

This airdrop has ended · checked 27 October 2026

As of 27 October 2026, the World Help Center says that since 1 June 2026 no new WLD airdrop cycles are created or renewed, so nobody can newly join. People already enrolled can keep claiming monthly until their 12-month cycle ends, and World has announced no replacement campaign.

The Worldcoin monthly WLD airdrop has ended for new joiners as of 27 October 2026; only people enrolled before 1 June 2026 can still claim.

What is Worldcoin?

Worldcoin is the token side of World, a project that calls itself the real human network. Its token, WLD, is described as the native token of that network and can power Mini Apps, platforms and services built on World. WLD lives on Ethereum and is bridged to World Chain.

World also builds World ID, a tool for proving that a person is a unique human and not a bot, without handing over personal information. A verified World ID is meant for places that should only admit real people, and integrations include Razer, Match Group and Okta Auth0.

What sets the project apart is how uniqueness is checked. At an Orb, a device that processes images of the face and eyes, a person is verified once, and the resulting World ID is designed to be anonymous. The protocol behind World ID is open source.

How Worldcoin works

World ID works by confirming once that a person is unique, then letting that person prove it again later without revealing who they are. At an Orb, the device takes images of the irises and face, converts the iris image into a unique code that is split into randomized fragments, and passes everything to the person's phone before permanently deleting its own copy. The phone then sends the fragments to a service that confirms the person has never verified before.

The airdrop program sat on top of that verification. Verified people could claim WLD once a month through the Worldcoin Mini App, inside a 12-month cycle that started when they enrolled. The portion depended on the kind of World ID Proof held: Proof of Human, earned at an Orb, could qualify for the highest WLD amount, while Proof of Attributes, earned with an NFC-enabled passport or national ID, could qualify based on the program rules.

As of 27 October 2026 the program is closed to new people. The World Help Center says airdrop cycles have not been created or renewed since 1 June 2026, and that no new cycle starts once an existing one ends. World has not announced a replacement campaign.

The Worldcoin airdrop

The program paid WLD, the Worldcoin token, to verified World ID holders in monthly portions over a 12-month cycle. Only people who enrolled before 1 June 2026 and claimed a first airdrop can still claim, until their cycle ends. The amount depended on the World ID Proof claimed: Proof of Human from an Orb visit, or Proof of Attributes from an NFC-enabled passport or national ID. Enrolment is now closed.

Step by step: how to get the Worldcoin airdrop

Kept for reference: this is how the campaign worked while it ran.

  1. Step 1: Install World Money and confirm you were enrolled

Get the app, called World Money (formerly World App), from the download page if your country supports it. Only people who enrolled and claimed a first airdrop before 1 June 2026 can continue, and nobody can start a new cycle now.

  2. Step 2: Verify as a unique human (earlier participants)

This is how earlier participants qualified, and verifying today does not enrol anyone, because new cycles stopped on 1 June 2026. The routes were an Orb visit for Proof of Human (see Orb locations) or adding an NFC-enabled passport or national ID for Proof of Attributes.

  3. Step 3: Open the Worldcoin Mini App

From the bar along the bottom of the app, switch to Apps and launch the Worldcoin Mini App, which is where the monthly claim is made.

  4. Step 4: Claim the monthly portion

Each month a new portion opens on the day of the month you first verified. Claim it within that month, because the cycle runs for 12 months in total.

  5. Step 5: Confirm the claim with World ID

Finish by approving the claim with World ID using the Verify button. A real airdrop never asks for your seed phrase or private key, so stop if any screen requests one.

Worldcoin airdrop FAQ

Is the Worldcoin airdrop still live?

No. As of 27 October 2026 the monthly WLD airdrop is closed to new participants, because the World Help Center says airdrop cycles have not been created or renewed since 1 June 2026. If you enrolled before that date and claimed a first airdrop, you can keep claiming monthly until your 12-month cycle ends, and no new cycle follows.

Is there a Worldcoin token?

Yes. The token is WLD, which World describes as the native token of its real human network. It can be used to power and take part in Mini Apps, platforms and services built on World, and the monthly airdrop paid WLD itself.

Does the Worldcoin airdrop cost anything or need KYC?

Claiming needed no purchase, and World App users generally do not currently pay gas for claiming WLD, because TFH funds those fees. It did need identity verification: you had to hold a World ID, earned at an Orb or with an NFC-enabled passport or national ID. The Orb does not ask for your name or email.

Which chain is WLD on?

WLD has its token contract on Ethereum mainnet and a bridged version on World Chain, a layer 2 network. A legacy bridged version of the token also still exists on Optimism. World cites scalability and transaction costs as its reasons for favouring World Chain as the main venue.

How do you stay safe when claiming WLD?

A real airdrop never asks for your seed phrase or private key, so refuse any message, site or Mini App that requests one. Claim only inside the official World app, from its Apps tab, and approve with World ID. Treat links sent by strangers, especially ones promising extra WLD, as untrusted.
